Pickleball Scoring Rules

In Pickleball, the scoring system is similar to that of tennis, with games usually played to 11 or 21 points. Points can only be scored by the serving team, and a point is awarded to the serving team when the opposing team commits a fault or fails to return the ball within the boundaries of the court.

In traditional pickleball, the first team to reach 11 points wins the game, as long as they have a lead of at least two points. If the score reaches 10-10, the game continues until one team has a two-point lead. If the game is tied at 20-20, the game goes to a tiebreaker where the first team to reach 7 points wins the game, as long as they have a two-point lead.

In some tournaments and leagues, games are played to 21 points, using the same scoring rules and point system as above.

It's also important to note that in pickleball, there is no "advantage" point system like in tennis, this means that if the score is tied and one team wins the next point, they will win the game, regardless of whether they have a two-point lead or not.
